The Picasso Project is celebrating its 15th anniversary. The program devoted to arts education was the focus of an awards presentation Wednesday afternoon at City Hall.
According to its website, the Picasso Project launched in 2003 as a response to a severe lack of funding for arts in Philly schools. Since then the program has help fund 163 school-based arts projects, inspired 40,750 students through the arts, and facilitated school partnerships with 243 arts & community organizations.
