University of Buffalo graduate student Pierre Fouche is learning how to build structures that can withstand natural disasters like the deadly earthquake that ripped though his home in Haiti. He moved to the US in 2006 to study structural engineering and multi-hazard threats. His goal is to find an economical and safe way of designing structures to withstand natural and man-made disasters.
