02/01/10: Lancers Urge Additional Federal Help With Haitian Adoptions

Sen. Charles Schumer was among the many lawmakers working to bring Geoffrey Lancer home from Haiti after the deadly earthquake tore through port-au-Prince. Since the earthquake, Haitian officials are becoming more stringent on adoptions. UNICEF officials warn Haitian orphans are susceptible to increased risks of malnutrition and disease, trafficking, sexual exploitation and serious emotional trauma. Michael and Erin Lancer are urging lawmakers to work just as diligently to find homes want lawmakers to work hard to help families seeking to legitimately adopt Haitian children.
