Graffiti vandals are canvassing Cheektowaga leaving their mark on a mausoleum and several spots along Genesee Street.
Cheektowaga Police are looking for the vandals spreading graffiti around the area. The letters “a-s-k” and “s-f-a” have been popping up all over Cheektowaga buildings since July 3rd. But it’s some of the more recent cases that’s causing alarm for Cheektowaga residents.
Monday vandals tagged the public mausoleum at the Pine Lawn cemetery, spreading paint across the east facing wall.
“I’m shocked because you don’t really expect graffiti vandalism on a mausoleum that reflects someone’s life and really disbelief that in today’s there’s no sacred property,” said Mount Calvary Cemetery Group’s Jeff Reed.
“This is kids showing off their graffiti talents or what ever you want to call it. At this time we have a couple leads. It’s not gang related. It’s two different kids using two different tags,” said Cheektowaga Police Detective Mark Jedd.
Cheektowaga investigators are looking for two juvenile suspects. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the graffiti unit at 686-3922.
