08/29/08: Overnight Fire Rips Through Carter County Trailer

Two people are safe after their home goes up in flames overnight in Carter County.
Your Tri-Cities News Source was the only television crew on the scene to gather the first video from the devastation.
Flames shot out around 2:44 Friday morning at 363 Garrison Hollow Road, near Siam Road.
News Channel 11’s exclusive video from the fire shows the charred trailer with busted windows and noticeable smoke damage.
Fire officials say the two people who live in the trailer were not home when the domicile went up in flames.
Hampton Fire Chief Jason Carden talked with News Channel 11 Videographer David McAvoy just minutes after the fire died down.
Carden says the two victims were not home and were notified that their home was on fire.
Watauga and Hampton Fire crews rushed to tackle the blaze. The fire was put out by 4:20 a.m.
The Red Cross also responded to assist the victims with it through the night.
Elizabethton Police say ammunition was found in the home and there are propane tanks around the trailer.
Investigators say it’s too early to tell what sparked the fire. Carden says the fire started in the living room in the front of the home. ###
