Laugh at me if you like, but I swear there’s something special about appearing in your hometown newspaper.
Our The List #TeamBWI members were selected for The Baltimore Sun’s “Glimpsed At Work” section. It’s a fun feature spotlighting Baltimore area professionals and their unique fashion sense. So you can imagine why I was blown away when fashion, culture and all things fabulous writer John-John Williams IV suggested me for this segment. I’m such a fashionista wannabe. Lol.
Ok here’s a list of reasons I was surprised and honored:
- I swear I dress simple and frugal. Heck I’m a “Marshalls Maven.” There are so many things I’d LOVE to one day have in my wardrobe. But for now, I need to handle some real world adult matters such as: student loans, home ownership, and retiring parents. Priorities
- They let the size 10 chick get the newspaper pic? Nice! Winning!
- The piece in the paper came out on the same day my Syracuse University and WAER-FM fellow alumni Howard Chen launched and debuted on Comcast SportsNet Houston in HIS hometown. Here’s one of his inaugural day video reports. We’ve come a long way from running around the old radio station in Newhouse II. I’m so proud of him. He’s an AAJA super star!
- It’s the Baltimore freakin’ Sun! Say what you will about the print industry folding, but this is a company that’s been around for about 175 years. That’s pretty impressive.
So that much said… today was a VERY good day! ###
