04/2012: Back to Basics (TV One, 1430 WNAV and teaching)

Every day I’m hustlin’… Take it Rick Ross.
Every day I’m hustlin’… Kat Williams

After leaving Crofton Patch I had to stay busy freelancing and teaching. So I went back to basics.

Anyone who knows me, remembers I’m a “BET baby.” This means I started my professional journalism career working for news and public affairs.

This time around I joined up with TV One to help produce programs town hall programs featuring Roland Martin and Al Sharpton.

I also devoted my weekends to anchoring for 1430 WNAV News in Annapolis. Here I had the honor or working with Barbara Smith-Cox,one of the best radio personalities and newswomen around. Paul “Kenneth” Burns also helped train me for success while also reiterating the need for multimedia.

Weekdays I was a substitute teacher with Baltimore County Schools. This was my first time working with the very “little people” full time. There were tons of super cute students at Fort Garrison Elementary.
