Todrick Hall leads cast of Toddlerz Ball in a rendition of “Low” and “Witch Better Have My Money” ( #BBHMM ).
WASHINGTON – Imagine having a YouTube binge marathon with your favorite viral video star performing live on stage. That’s the vibe that exploded Tuesday evening in Washington D.C. at the Toddlerz Ball at THEARC.

Todrick Hall, American Idol season nine semi-finalist turned Youtube sensation, brought all his famous musical parodies to life for the packed theatre in Ward 8.

The cast draped in colorful eye-catching costumes and makeup performed Hall’s well known hits Beauty and the Beats, 90’s Disney, Twerking in the Rain and Splits on Trees. They also hit the lights for a glow-in-the-dark rendition of Hall’s Beyonce medley.

The audience was part of the performance throughout the night. Three concert goers had a chance to join the Toddlerz Ball cast on stage to see how well they can follow along and take a food order from the melodic Todrick and his doo-wop style backup singers. This again is a well known Todrick Hall YouTube viral video shtick.

The Toddlerz Ball cast also included season four American Idol finalist Vonzell Solomon who showed her vocal and theater skills are a winning combination for the stage and film. She had a special role in Hall’s Weave Girls parody paying homage to Dream Girls.

Hall performed an original ballad and also shared stories of growing up in Texas. He told the audience how he was often misunderstood and bullied for his interests in the arts among other things.
The classically trained ballet dancer slowed things down in the show to dazzle the crowd with a modern dance number paying homage to the “It Get’s Better” campaign. There was also a video presentation and musical tribute to the “Love Wins” marriage equality Supreme Court ruling.
This modern dance number was a tearjerker and tribute to kids combating bullying. #ItGetsBetter.
While some artists ban social media use and recording during their performances, the Toddlerz Ball cast encouraged fans to snap away, posting photos and videos to any and every platform. Much of this organic social media promotion will likely lay the foundation for the premiere of Todrick a new reality show coming to MTV August 31.
