02/23/2016 : Cheverly STEM Public Speaking Debates (Black History Month Inventors)

Cheverly STEM Education Center (Cheverly, Md.) Public Speaking students participated in impromptu debates Tuesday February 23, 2016. They were assigned to research an African American inventor and have three to five facts about how that person that contributed to STEM.
When they arrived at class, students were then told they will take the knowledge of their inventor and debate against a classmate to defend why their selected inventor contributed the most to the audience (the class). This exercise gave students a chance to demonstrate their persuasion skills and ability to deliver extemporaneous arguments based on research.
This is their TENTH recorded assignment.
