Before the Powerball game came to New York, many residents headed to Pennsylvania, Vermont and Connecticut to grab a ticket. New York Lottery officials say they hope adding the new game will keep more money here in the Empire State. New York Lottery officials hope Powerball will pour money into the state’s economy. New York keeps up to 20% of Mega Millions ticket revenue generate from sales in the state.
