The NAACP is paying homage to the strength, power and resilience of African-Americans by embarking on the “Jamestown to Jamestown” pilgrimage. This partnership with Ghana marks the “Year of Return” – a landmark spiritual and birth-right journey inviting the Global African family, home and abroad, to commemorate the 400-year anniversary of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. On August 18, 2019 more than 250 participants embarked on this journey that started in Jamestown, Virginia and will end in the Jamestown district of Accra, Ghana.
